Recently bought new Hakka 7s, my second set of Hakkas, previous 4 and now 7. Have not tried on ice and snow yet but was extremely satisfied with the 4s which lasted about 50-55.000 km.Yes, VERY(!) loud tires but grippy on pure ice and on any snow. After high performance summer tires these are way softer, so need to adjust driving habbits to winter mode. Again, the studded Hakkas are great on ice & snow, not so on ashpalt but that is a compromise one has to make.
I was chosing between Nokian Hakka 7, Micheline X-Ice North & Continental Conti-Ice-Contact. Latest Gislaved tires are great too but it seems difficult to find in Canada-NA.
If you are OK to sacrify driving comfort for ice/snow performance and willing to drive on ashpalt slower than in summer, hakkas would be a good choice.
I believe Hakka 7-s around for 2 years now, so some pple will have better feedback on them.
