Water in doors
« on: October 12, 2011, 11:41:33 am »
After rain or a wash, the doors on my new to me 2008 Ford Escape drain water onto the drive when opened from the drain holes.I have not noticed this with any other vehicle.the window seals don't look damaged but don't look as though they  seal well in the corners.Question is:- is it good that they drain well, or bad that the water is in there?

Update, the problem turned out to be that the door seals block the drain holes when the doors are closed,so when the doors are opened the water pours out.The fix is to drill small holes in the underside of each of the doors.

Spray some rust preventative in the holes.

I drilled holes in the rocker panels of my wife's Grand Caravan.  I figured it couldn't any worse as the rockers were already rusting ahead of the rear wheels.   :P
