BMW independaant service in Montreal
« on: October 04, 2011, 08:00:40 am »
I was wondering if anyone knew of a good independant service shop for BMW in Montreal. West Island location would be ideal but would be willing to drive further for a good honest shop.

Was planning to avoid dealer for non-warranty service items. I also may want to get extra oil changes beyond recommended schedule.

I currently have a great mechanic I have been going to for years, but I have never seen him touch a BMW. Not sure if servicing a BMW is that different from other cars.

hey slybry,

i'm sure there are few of those in montreal.   i have not been underneath e46 and after, yet, but looked after couple of e36 and e30 before.  it is little different servicing bmw's, but as long as the technician is patient and takes his time, normal things like oil changes (what else does e90 need, really?) can be done anywhere.

i've read that e90's oil does really last long time so you may be worried over nothing.

if you have a great mechanic, i would just talk to him, ask him to take his time, tip him couple of extra bucks and bring your own oil.  (cause he may not stock bmw spec oil, and he may also need to buy torx bits).

Driving thrills makes my wallet lighter.. and therefore makes me faster because i'm shedding weight... :D

I thought everything was covered for 4 years
An extra oil change would be only about $125 at the dealer, no big deal, I thing the parts was almost $75 when I did it myself
filter was $10, what is oil  now $10 per l
