No suit....didn't want to invest in fall-winter wear, just wanted to get out in the unusually long warm(ish) spell.

I may buy some weather gear in the spring if I decide I want to start riding early in 2012 though.  Going to the motorcycle show here when it comes.

My hands haven't been cold yet, but the thighs were PRETTY CHILLY until I pulled out the longjohns.

What brand and type of riding suit are you using?

Rode last Monday on my favorite twisty road. About 8C, damp asphalt, some snow on the side of the road. Not the time to try to make the pegs drag the asphalt. I have a Rukka Armacor suit. Very expensive but certainly one of the best, if not THE best.

Yes, that's me in the picture... ;)

The pee is the heating system.:bang:

-8 this morning. Snow in the Laurentian last week end. Good for you that you can still ride but it's pretty much over here. Anyway it is illegal in Quebec to ride between December 15 and March 15 because winters are mandatory.

Yes, i know studded tires exist for ice racing but try to explain that to him.  :popo:

Good to see someone serious about riding and the gear they use. I've considered Rukka but have been using an Aerostich Roadcrafter II since 1992, which I replaced with the same in 2005 (I still have the old suit).

You should try a heated jacket liner such as a Gerbings. It makes all the difference on a cold day. You can ride 500 kms on a sub zero day and feel warm. My BMW came with heated grips and I can't say enough about them; the heated gloves haven't been used since.
What you won't find in my car is a coffee, cigarette and a cell phone. What you will find is a driver; imagine that, a driver in a vehicle. What an effing concept!

I agree, I love the heated grips I installed on the Versys.  The only part of me that ever gets chilly is just my knees.  I need to invest in a good pair of riding pants, that should take care of the chilly knees.  Santa (ahem!) are you listening???

Got the heated grips on The BMW as well. No need for heated gloves. Forecast for Sunday is 8C. Maybe able to sneak out 1 more ride this season!

Me too.  Got it out yesterday.  It was 24 in Ottawa yesterday!  :o  I can't believe my first ride of the year was this early, and I was in my summer jacket, no liner and vents zipped open.  Rode to work today too.  Good to be back on 2 wheels!!!

Had it out two weeks ago, and into the shop for a complete mechanical inspection last week, checks out A-OK for a 9 year old.

Snow coming here.  The roads are also covered in rocks/sand.  It will be a little while before my two-wheelers come out.
No place I'd rather be...

It's probably going to be two to three weeks before all the snow's gone here. Then there's still going to be a lot of gravel on the roads until they clear it. That'll be be another three to four weeks in my neighbourhood. So, the bike may come out in early April, but I wont' be riding it much 'til May or so.

I'm not going to smite you AB.  That's your punishment!

200hp motorcycle on near-racing-slick tires + -3C temps (today) + tons of sand/gravel = disaster.  I do risky stuff, but I'm not stupid...

^^Probably a good call.  If it wasn't for all the rain we had last week washing the roads, mine might still be in the garage.

Yeah there are some advantages to having 16hp, and basically driving a dirt bike (ooh, I dropped it!).

More power would certainly be nice though, the Henday is a bit of an experience. I was looking at beautiful new Harleys on the weekend, certainly in the first week I'd tip one of those over in the gravel.

The replacement bill for the damaged chrome would make it a write-off.  :)

It was sunny and +15 on Wednesday, so managed to get out for a quick spin. Just in time, too, as we're back to cold weather and rain/snow for the next little while.
