Maybe due to the past GM relationship with Suzuki and Subaru?  You'd think they would have split by now.  I recall in Saskatoon that there used to be a Saab/Suzuki dealer. Somebody currently from S'toon correct me if I'm wrong.

Saab hasn't been in Saskatoon, for a long time.  Probably at least a decade.  The S'toon Suzuki dealership is a tiny little lot that is difficult to access unless you know exactly where it is.  It looks more like a used car than a new car dealership, which is not surprising considering that most of the lot is used cars and not new Suzukis.  I toured it a few months ago when I was considering a Kizashi sport.  They had all of 4 Kizashis to sell - in 2 different colours - and none were the sport model (so no chance for a M/T).  I wasn't about to speak with a dealer rep to see if they would order one in.  I was interested - but not that interested.

Ya, I haven't lived there for a decade, even though I visit several times a year.  It was on 8th Street IIRC.  Could have been a Suzuki/Subaru rather than a Suzuki/Saab.

I guess this gives you an idea on this write-up on the 2011 SX4 sedan from some of the reviewers comments.  Personally I didn't even know there was a SX4 sedan (but I think it was probably called the Aerio before), I thought there was only the SX4 hatchback and in AWD only, also AWD is not available on the sedan.

SX4 Sedan is the SX4 hatch with a trunk.  It isn't the Aerio.  It is based on the new platform co-developed with the french.

Props to Suzuki in improving the car over the years, but it sucks how much is lacking in my girlfriends car compared with the 2011 models.  She has a 2008 Sport Sedan in white (just like the one in the review).  Here is a list of things now standard in the sport package not available 3 years ago:

  • Rear Spoiler
  • CVT Transmission - hers was the one and only year with a 4 speed auto
  • split fold back seats - first few years did not offer this as there was an X brace there to improve handling.  I doubt her's is a far better handler then the current one
  • paddle shifters
  • heated seats
  • Navigation

They also in three years have updated the auto climate control, 7 more HP, new seat fabrics and gauges......but the exterior save for the rear spoiler is identical  ???

in checking the website and the brochure I did not see any mention of an available Navigation system (unless I missed it  ;))

I really want to buy a Kizashi Sport but stock is so limited and they only have black, I will never buy a black car again, I want that platinum colour they have very sleek. Apparently nothing's coming in until spring to summer 2012. Maybe no 2012 MY Suzukis. Rumour has it that the new Kizashi will come standard with 4WD in all three trims.
