Which is why I used the word "relative".
If it flies, floats or f#%&s...rent it.

Yes but compared to an RX-8 lots of cars are poor handlers, the RX-8 is very good indeed.  Whereas the GC is just good.

Indeed.  The RX-8 is a fantastic handler.
Yeah except I think there was too much roll with it...at least for me. For everyday I actually prefer the G.
I also hated how the 8 was affected by cross-winds on the high way...not that that in itself is a handling trait.

The Coupe is an awesome ride, but let us know how he likes the manual in it?

Had coffee with him this morning.  He reports that he finds the 1-2 shift a bit on the notchy side, but the rest are better.  He has no complaints about the clutch.  The biggest adjustment has been the power - just a slight upgrade from his ancient Accord, to say the least.

I find the 1-2 shift notchy too.

Jaeger, one more bit of convincing - get him to put premium fuel in it.

While Hyundai says regular is fine (and it is), there's a night and day difference running the good stuff. Throttle response improves immensely, it feels ever-so-slightly faster, and the fuel economy even improves by anywhere from 1-2 L/100 km - enough to offset the extra cost! Just because an engine is "ok" to run on 87 doesn't mean it should be. Trust me, it's worth it.

Re: the notchy 1-2 shift, that will improve with time. By about 6,000 km the gearbox will be worked in and operate much more smoothly.
