The aftermarket will go nuts and stage 1 and 2 kits will make it insane.

I hope so! This car has been at the top of my sports car wish list since I read about it in Car and Driver. It's about time Toyota put a purpose built sports model in its current line up. This car would be so sexy in black!

Factory specs were leaked today, along with an interior pic.  Autocar has also tested the car Along with another mag) and the both said the handling hype is true...that the car really handles!  They say it feels light and compact...like an MX-5.  That alone is pretty high praise.

HP: 147kw (200ps) / 200hp @7000rpm
Torque: 205nm (151 lb/ft) @ 6600rpm

Wait I thought it wasn't going to be available with a manual.  They said dual-clutch only.

I love the RX-8 like gauge.  I miss having the giant tach with the digital speed readout in the center.  Makes it easy when in the USA as well

How much I want to be excited about this I'm afraid how much things can/will change by time this goes to production. Once the "real" car is release I can't wait to see it.

Cool that it was designed from the beginning to accomodate a drop top model as well.  Maybe one day....   :skid:

In understand that AWD will not be possible (not with Subaru’s existing transaxles) because the engine has been shifted 9-10 inches to the rear compared to a typical Subie.

At the same time? Won't that cause a bit of confusion? ;D

When Hyundai and Kia can make something that can behave like this then they know they have made it imo .

In your mind not mine .

In journalist's minds too.  All they are saying is the BRZ when pushed stays pretty neutral.  Some cars turn into huge understeer or oversteer pigs.  Most often you'll see a touch of understeer because it's safer.  The Genesis Coupe stays pretty neutral also (at least the 2.0T I drove).  FWIW, I read another drive of the BRZ (FT-86) and they said it would make an excellent drift machine...which means it oversteers madly.

So are you trying to tell me the Genesis you presumably drove was an understeering (or oversteering) monster??
