The order is in and I'm expecting delivery in November. Ordered a pretty loaded one, all options other than the rear seat entertainment package (for $2400 I would rather give the kids each an iPad to watch movies on). I did order Premium and Sport packages, leather package with climate control seats, trailer hitch, etc. Debated long and hard on colours and ended up ordering Calcite White with the new tobacco brown leather over black interior plus the open pore wood trim which looks amazing.
I came close to buying a new Cadillac CTS-V Wagon (close enough that I almost put pen to paper). They are about the same money. The V has a monster engine and I did test drive one and its shockingly fast. That means it would probably take about a month for me to get nailed doing 50 over and having it towed. Plus RWD and 556 hp means a crappy winter driver even with great snow tires and I don't want to have a winter beater. Thought about the new 2012 Jeep GC SRT8 but came to the decision that the Mercedes is a better fit for me. I loved my 08 and the reviews I have been reading on the redesign are overwhelmingly positive. The diesel is even better, more power and yet 10% better fuel economy in the city. Way nicer interior. Driving a diesel I found myself driving conservatively and trying to max the number of kms I could squeeze out of each tank. Good for the wallet and good for my life expectancy (vs the Cadillac which would have likely shortened my lifespan by a few decades).
Mercedes worked hard to get me back into another ML. Great discount especially considering its a newly redesigned model plus they are giving me a great price for my trade and guaranteeing me the value even though its likely 2 1/2 months to delivery. If my ML isn't ready by the middle of November they are giving me a demo until it comes in. The new dealership in Burlington is beautiful and 5 minutes from home. I had a great sales guy who worked hard to earn my business. Overall, I am pretty stoked about the order and now just have to play the waiting game!
