Rattle in the back end - 07 Camry LE
« on: August 17, 2011, 06:08:59 pm »
Hello. I have a 2007 Camry LE and have noticed a rattle in the rear of the car when I drive over bumps. It is not normal noise from bumps but seems to be an issue with the car. I know that the car has collapsible rear seats that hook/lock in to holders – could this be the cause/have you heard of this being an issue with this model?
If not, what could be the other causes?

Thanks very much!

If the noise is from the inside, you need someone sitting in the back to track it down as you drive...

REmove trunk liner, remove spare tire, jack, wheel wrench and lug nut key if applicable and then test ride.

I had a similar problem with my Camry. Have a mechanic check the suspension rubber bushings, I mistakenly replaced a shock thinking it was the culprit but it turned out to be simply a bushing - a cheap repair, noise was gone for good.

+1

Worn sway bar bushings will do that. It's an inexpensive repair.
