Ya...not that "H"

...and truth be told, it's a little bit small for me.

It's an '06, bought from an Alliston Honda employee who purchased it new.

Someone is going to have a lot fun with that. Back in the day I had a Honda XR80 and XR200. I thoroughly flogged and abused them, even to the point of fully submerging one in a creek (long story). They never once gave me any trouble despite the abuse.

Ha ha...ya...not a Hyundai, this time around anyway.

The bike is for my son, who is 8...although adults can apparently ride them, which I think looks silly. He's likely ride it for a couple of years and we'll get most of our cash out of it...they don't depreciate much.

This will stay at his uncle's farm in Peterborough where there's lots of trails that his uncle and friends have made over the years.

Perfect, it's the evolution of the original Mini Trail Z50. You can't kill those things.

How many of us abused those poor things when we were kids? In the '70s it was the first motorized vehicle a lot of us piloted.

We had one that looked a lot like this

Picture brings back memories. I had the slightly larger Honda CT70. Lots of fun!

Mini-bikes are great fun.
My first bike was actually a 50cc Bombardier Junior Cross. Bombardier actually had two mini-bikes in the early 70's before the Bombardier Can-Ams came out (which I also had)
This bike actually looked like a real motorcycle only scaled down a bit - certainly not like a mini-bike. Beautiful workmanship, Cerrani forks, Delorto carb and all. Wish I still had it. Purchased it used from Dana Lewis when I was in grade 8 for about $200 I think? Dana would have been in grade 7 as I was a year older. I think his Father was Lawyer in TO that got disbarred actually. I have the original bill of sale still and, for the one that replaced it - another 'H' Product - an SL-125. There were about 10 of us in my hood at the time.
Anyone remember Dana Lewis?

Yup, mine was blue. A 1973 model, IIRC.

Dad bought it new and it was still going strong at least until the mid-eighties when it was handed down to a cousin after my brother and I had long outgrown it. Even as a 6' tall, 180 pound teenager I still loved to get on the little bike and thrash it up and down the long driveway at my grandparents' place.

And as a kid, I remember spraying the hot cylinder head with a blast of cold water from the garden hose every 20 minutes or so, thinking I was doing a good thing by keeping the engine cool. Hey, liquid cooling was the wave of the future, right? Plus, it made really cool metallic pinging noises and an awesome cloud of steam!

Fantastic little bikes, and yes, damn near indestructible.

A gear-head friend of mine had most of one of those in grade 8. He never did collect enough parts to make it run.

To be 8 with a bike , he must think you're the greatest dad , all his friends will want rides on it .
To run around on a farm with trails even better.
Nothing beats 2 wheels (with an engine ) for fun .
I have very fond memories of 2 honda mini bikes , 2 friends had them and they were alot of fun .
You have given your son a great gift .
