Merry Christmas Mrs. Snowman 2
« on: August 13, 2011, 05:12:22 pm »
We spent most of the day test driving the Outback 3.6R, Toyota Highlander, and Toyota Venza and at the end of the day ordered a 2011 Toyota Venza Touring with Navigation and JBL package. It should be here in 8-9 weeks and will supply actual pics when delivered.

I kept my opinions to myself and let Mrs. Snowman decide what she thought would meet her expectations as a family hauler replacement for Becky. The additional features and ergonomics were the deciding factor for selecting the Venza from her prospective and the monthly cost savings by having the multiple security deposit option was important to her as career cost controller :)

Great choice for family hauler duties! I assuming you went with the V6?

Mrs. Snowman is getting spoiled!   ;)

With delivery in 8 - 9 weeks I'm surprised that's not a 2012.  What color did you get, same as the pic you attached?  By the time you get it, you won't be driving it that long before the snows go on.

I can see from the other vehicles you have listed, you are not stuck on one particular brand. Good for you, for having an open mind and looking at different manufacturers vehicles. There is no doubt in my mind, that you and the Mrs Snowman made the right choice that fits your needs. The Venza is one nice vehicle.

Was there any reason you looked at the Outback and not a new Tribeca? Was there something about the Tribeca that did not draw you back to it?

There was nothing wrong with the Tribeca, it was a great vehicle and served us well. The reason we started looking at the Outback was because of how much it changed and we also are fans of wagons vs. SUV's. When this happened the Venza came into the picture and in the end it was a toss up between the two. I was leaning towards the Outback but for my wife the additional features and ergonomics tipped the scales.

Toyota has some demographics nailed.  My wife can hardly walk into a Toyota dealership without leaving in a new car of some type.  The Venza and Highander easily topped her list when compared to most wagon/SUVs.  For us, the Venza's cargo space is not enough larger than the Forester to justify buying one.
No place I'd rather be...

Congrats Snowman and Mrs Snowman!  :)

That's one nice vehicle, and value-packed at the price you had previously mentioned.
