Pet Peeve of the day
« on: August 12, 2011, 05:24:57 pm »
I was behind a vehicle that was entering one of the roundabouts in town yesterday. As I was waiting my turn, I saw this idiot actually stop in the roundabout to let someone else in. That's almost as stupid as the morons that pull up to a four-way stop before you do and then wave you through. It's almost like they're asking for a crash. Geez.... >:(

drove me nuts when that happened to me.

today i saw a truck in front of me signal lane change into left lane.
acura TL was coming up on left, probably saw the signal but still passed the truck.
the truck honked, and this guy in TL actually slows down to be beside the truck and they exchanged some words probably, and the truck made threatening move into TL..
the guy in TL doesn't flinch, but slowly moves forward and onward.

both were morons....

Driving thrills makes my wallet lighter.. and therefore makes me faster because i'm shedding weight... :D

What do you expect. It does not take a lot to get a driver's licence here.
What you won't find in my car is a coffee, cigarette and a cell phone. What you will find is a driver; imagine that, a driver in a vehicle. What an effing concept!

I wish people wouldn't do that.  If you have right of way, don't give it up.  I just causes confusion.

Happens all the time in Waterloo, drives me freakin' nuts.  I have a roundabout just round the corner from my house, and the number of near misses I've had is ridiculous, I just have to assume nobody knows what it is or how to drive around it, 95% of thetime I am right.  It is scary in the Winter though as people just plow through regardles of right of way.

I purposely drive to Arrowhead Road and  Great Lakes Boulevard here in Oakville to see how fast I can go around them in the S2000....conditions permitting  :)

Me too.  There's not a day goes by that I don't hear someone laying on the horn at someone who has no clue what to do.

Come down to Cambridge, now that's some scary stuff for the few they have. I've seen people drive right up and over the centre of them.

I was in Halifax last week - the intersection of St. Margarets Bay, Herring Cove, Quinpool, Chebucto and Joseph Howe is this brilliantly designed roundabout that is a model of efficiency.
Richard - that's my opinion and I stand by it.

Here's my newest pet peeve.  Yesterday on the way home I was stuck behind a backhoe who was driving in traffic (40km/h in an 80 zone) and made no effort what so ever to move onto the ample shoulder to allow people to pass.  We were on a wide 2 lane road where the lane is actually close to a lane and a half wide.  He drove the thing almost on the double yellow line.  Then we finally get to a 4 lane part of the road, and what does he do?  Goes straight to the left lane!!!  Grrrrrr!!!!!!   :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
