I finally got some me time and decided to spend it exploring VTEC. I did not realize the rear on an S2000 was so easy to break free under aggressive up shifting even on a straight line. The S is a completely different animal between 7000 and 8000 rpm.

That it is.  I find 6000 and above to be a complete 100% transformation of how the car performs.  All I can say is that 6k and above, it's a screamer of a car and makes me smile like a little kid.  Welcome to the awesome ownership of the S2000!

Now that I am driving more aggressively and testing some of the limits I am finding that the Potenza RE 050's are greasy.  I find when entering a corner I am under steering and at the apex to exit I am over steering...comments?

My Dad's SO has an S2K, and she is a terrific driver.  She has had a bit of a struggle finding the right tire set up that gives her great traction, but still allows her to go on long trips in the car.  She thought about a DOT-spec tire, but they have really poor wet weather performance.  A tire shop pleaded with her to try the Pilot Super Sport, and she has been seriously impressed.  They took the car down the Canada/US West Coast, and it handled like a dream on the twisty roads and still allowed them to travel regardless of weather.

They're $$$...
No place I'd rather be...

Dunlop Direzza Star Specs (what I have on my WRX) and you will not be disappointed. A seriously kick ass tire.  So. Sticky. Well priced.

Cons - a little (a lot of) road noise and quick wear.

First place.

They didn't ask? I know they asked me, for both the car and bike. Weird.

Also look at the Greddy Turbo kit.  VERY OEM fit and finish, makes better torque down low...

How fast is my Supra?  I sh*t on Cessnas from a roll....

It was my first option but not good for daily driving. Throttle becomes a toggle switch.

^^^^Actually it doesn't...I've driven it.  The kit was developed by Greddy as a street set-up, which is why the torque is so good down low.  And with the mapping of the ECU/VTEC, it feels just like a firmer VTEC engagement IMO.  Certainly was one of the smoothest aftermarket turbo set-ups I've ever driven.

Hmmmm that is not what my tuner said. I will have to investigate more.

Troll the S2000 boards.  I have yet to read anyone calling the Greddy kit a "lightswitch".  The turbo is sooo teeny!!  I guarantee you my Audi is much more of a lightswitch than the turbo S2000s I have driven with the Greddy kit.

From Turbo Magazine:

Driving the GReddy turbo-powered S2000 is another story. It seems as though there are two paths to take in terms of Honda turbocharging. You can either strap on the largest, oversized beast of a turbo you can find in hopes of attaining unworldly peak horsepower figures, little of which is actually usable, or you can err on the realistic side and fit something smaller. The second choice almost always makes for more usable power, which translates into a more enjoyable drive. This is exactly what GReddy achieves with the T518Z. Torque is applied out back gradually enough so as not to light the rear tires up in a storm of smoke, yet remains broad enough to outrun most any of the T-too-big Honda's not outfitted with slicks.

That is exactly my impression.  Torque was smooth and thick.  Loved the kit!
