Do you guys feel like it's worth it for me to do the Car Cost? As in should i be expecting siginificant discounts? I know it's a brand new car (& very hyped), maybe they won't budge to much on pricing. They are giving $500 off any car at the moment. So is this as good as it gets in terms of deals?
Thanks again!!
Thanks guys
I thought the CarCostCanada thing was sort of a gimmick (really, could they inform me of any deals that I couldn't find myself?) But then I used it, and was pleasantly surprised. I was "window-shopping" for a 2011 Elantra Touring, just to compare new pricing against a lightly used 2009 ET for sale (which I ended up buying). The Hyundai website showed a price of 22049 + freight + tax (or about $26K all in, which is overpriced IMO), and no incentives for a cash price on the website (but I figured the dealer would sell for much less). CCC returned a quote with $4500 off, or $21.5K all in. I was highly impressed (and the local dealer phoned me up not 2 minutes later, offering to match the CCC quote). Now I may have been able to negotiate $4500 off the sticker price (or even better?) myself, but CCC saved a lot of hassle. I seriously thought about buying the 2011 model at that price, but after using the CCC quote as leverage on the used ET pirce, the used ET (11000 km) still ended up being $4k less than new, all in. But I was VERY close to buying the new model - and I would never have considered it without using CCC. On the other hand, I doubt there are any good deals on the new 2012 Accent (especially if there are supply issues as you've mentioned). The 2011 ET is an older model, with a higher base price and far more room to haggle. So maybe CCC won't be very helpful in your case. But the service is cheap ($40), so even if they don't get you a great price, no biggie...
Make sure you post again with impressions after you pick it up!
