So I just got back from the dealership where my little sis inked a deal on her new ride. She had been driving a Honda CR-V for the last 8 years, 200,000km, and it was time for something new. She had been very happy with her own ride, and both sis and bro-in-law have been long time customers of the "other" H-brand - he drives a Civic. They have 2 kids - 7 and 9, and the CR-V had been their primary roadtrip vehiclle for excursions to Nova Scotia, Maine, Orlando, Atlanta etc.
They wanted something just a bit larger and roomier this time around. I figured the odds of them ending up in another Honda were pretty high, so I was knd of surprised when they said they had narrowed it down to the Toyota Venza and the Hyundai Santa Fe. After taking a couple test-drives of both again, they settled on the Santa Fe and asked me to help with the negotiations / purchase.
Since my local dealer is a CarCost Canada affiliated dealer, that whole process couldn't have been easier. Plus, Hyundai has some serious incentives on the car -0% for as long as you want or $4k on the hood plus a gas card (20 or 30cents off, I don't recall which). They took the big pile of cash plus a very healthy discount from MSRP and ended up with a V6 Santa Fe for less than the asking price of a base auto CR-V.
I didn't take any pics of my own, but the web pics below show the colour she got inside and out (Espresso Brown over Tan):

I took a test drive of the actual car they are buying and came away thinking they made a nice choice. While not my type of ride, it was spacious, comfortable, quiet and smooth and should serve them very well indeed.
