Advice on a Ford Escape

Hello

I have a choice to make. I am thinking of buying a Ford Escape and I have a total budget of $15k. Here are the 2 options:
2005 Escape, $11k, 85k kms
2008 escape, $15k, 65k kms

Which one would you buy?

Thanks for any suggestions/reasons

based on carcomplaints.com those seem the 2 most troubled years... things improve after 08.. go newer if you can

WOW!!!!! $2500 for shock and strut replacement....I couldnt imagine paying that much for something you can do in your garage in a day for about $500. Looks like 2009 and up is your best bet.

I wouldn't buy either. It's an outgoing model with outdated equipment. New Kia Sportage or a larger Sorento would be my first consideration in the segment. Both currently have 0% financing for 4-5 years and the warranty coverage is great. IIRC only Mitsu offers longer warranties now.

p.s. 15k down and the rest financed at 0% = driving a new car with no repair headaches.

I would not buy either one.

Ford is blowing out their Escapes currently @ 0%/60. You've got a few hours left.  ;D
