Prius C subject to 6% duty and almost all buyers will pay 2% exchange rate fee.

It's moot because they won't sell a new one to a Canadian while supply is super tight.  It's gonna be a year so ppl here should think about buying enough US dollars.

If they can bring it here for around $20K, it will sell out easily.  If it had been available when we bought the Corolla, I'd bet we would have gone for the C.
No place I'd rather be...

Was somewhat surprised to read that Toyota said it was a much more challenging technical (and cost) problem to package the hybrid components in the C than the normal Prius.  Less space for the hybrid components.

And yea..it will sell!!  "Someone at Toyota told The Nikkei today that the company “received about 120,000 orders for its new Aqua compact hybrid between its Dec. 26 release and Jan. 31, 10 times the monthly sales target of 12,000 vehicles.” Toyota markets the car as the Aqua in Japan. In the U.S. and other markets, it will be called Prius C."

Here's a great article on how they packaged everything into the car:  http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/2012/01/review-of-sorts-prius-c-japanese-spec/

http://www.autoblog.com/2012/02/10/2012-toyota-prius-c-first-drive-review/

It looks a bit nose heavy from the side view, but the interior and the dash in particular seem well designed and the materials are not bland as they used to be in recent past. I love the "preloaded" game selection, although it's to bad it doesn't have the 0-60 one  ;)
With gas prices like 127 cents today, these will be hot little cakes.

It's all around Toronto. Costco recently dropped their discount from 7 to only 4 cents it seems, so no big deal any more.

Big seller in the US already
http://ca.autoblog.com/2012/03/16/toyota-prius-c-outsells-monthly-total-of-chevy-volt-nissan-leaf/#continued

It sure makes for a good headline, but I'd be more interested in seeing the Prius C's first-month sales vs. the Leaf/Volt's first-month sales. As with any new product, I expect initial demand to be high, so a new product outselling an old one isn't really a good measure imo.

That being said, the Prius C seems like a very, very good choice. The infrastructure and technology just isn't there yet to make the Leaf completely viable, and both it and the Volt are very expensive compared to the C. At this price point, and with this fuel economy, I expect it will do very, very well in the marketplace.

The Volt's best month ever was 1,108.  The Prius C has already beaten that in 3 days.  There are 120,000 orders for the Prius C.  There is no point in comparing numbers.  As I said a bazillion times about the Volt...people want to drive green cars...just not $40,000 green cars.  The Prius C proves this perfectly.

I don't get it, why do Toyota hybrids, as well as the CT 200h, have to be so geeky and fugly?
