I really don't like that bulbous rear end.  However, the dash looks nice and simple, and finally a centre console.
Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction, and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives.

^^Agreed, the rear end looks Volvo like. I like the simpleness of the interior as well.

I don't like the rear end either.  It definitely needs larger quarter glass.

prices announced for the 2012 model

Honda Canada has just announced pricing for the freshly redesigned 2012 Honda CR-V, which is set to go on sale on January 4th.

The base CR-V will start at $25,990, or $300 below the previous edition, and offer $2,500 of additional value in standard features and technologies, the automaker says.

Exclusive to Canada, the new CR-V Touring ($34,990) will stand out with Honda's upgraded Real Time all-wheel drive system with Intelligent Control, not to mention an auto-dimming rearview mirror as well as chrome door handles and roof rails.

All 2012 Honda CR-V models will be powered by a 2.4L 4-cylinder i-VTEC engine (185 hp, 163 lb-ft of torque) mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission. Fuel economy (city/highway) will reportedly be to 9.0/6.4 L/100km for 2WD units, and 9.2/6.6 L/100km for AWD units.

Beyond the restyled exterior, this compact CUV also features a new Easy Fold-Down 60/40 split rear seat, lower cargo floor, Bluetooth, and heated front seats.

There are a few a the local dealerships here---looks a lot smaller in person. Parked our 05 beside one and it was lower and looked smaller.  Honda's clever design makes it roomier inside.

Alliston, Ontario – Production of the all-new 2012 Honda CR-V has officially started at Honda of Canada Manufacturing in Alliston, Ontario. Previous CR-V models were built in Ohio.

With the addition of the CR-V to the Ontario facility, Honda Canada’s two best-selling vehicles, the Civic and CR-V, are now being made in Canada.

“The Honda CR-V has set the gold standard in the compact SUV segment and has been embraced by Canadians since it arrived here in 1997,” said Jerry Chenkin, executive vice-president of Honda Canada. “We’re proud that the all-new 2012 CR-V will be Canadian-built.”

The Alliston plant is the first Honda facility to produce four distinct models – the Civic, CR-V, MDX and ZDX – on one line.
