Hey guys, I just bought a new car for my fiance and I will be selling her first ever car on which she learned how to drive.
it's a 99 civic hatchback with 215k on it and I was thinking about whether I should safety it or not.
I remember stories from my teenage years when there was a rumor that if you safety the car and it brakes withing the period of how long the safety is valid from the buyer can return the car to you.
It is a older car, one day it can be good, the next day something can brake, and I'm unsure whether I should safety it or not, I certainly don't wanna have it on the back of my mind for 36 days after the sale has been made.

Sell the vehicle "as is" without warranty. That means the Seller is not guaranteeing the quality of the product to the Purchaser. The Seller is not liable for any imperfections or flaws in the goods provided the Seller has not taken steps to hide those flaws or lies about the existence of those flaws.

Safety or not they can't return it.  Buyer beware.   The shop though can r liable if within the 36 days a safety item fails.  But safety doesn't really cover much.

I think it might help you sell the car if you have it saftied and e-tested.  A potential buyer choosing between one as is, or certified - which would you choose. It might get you more money too, if that matters.
