New ride on the way
« on: July 18, 2011, 10:36:57 am »
Well the time has come.  After being treated like crap at City Buick Chevrolet Cadillac (GM isn't gonna be successful unless the attitude of their sales department changes... can you say douche bag?... that's another thread story) while asking about the CTS and LaCrosse, I walked out and vowed never to step foot in that dealer again.

I stopped by Acura Sherway to ask a question if I could special order a car in Basque Red (Only available in the states) and I smelled HUNGER.  Took advantage of it while I was there even though the lease on my 08 TL isn't up until May. I Walked out with a purchase agreement for a black on black 2012 TL with tech package.

Delivery is estimated for the end of July.  Had to be ordered from factory so it's sitting in a bunch of pieces on a cargo ship coming from Japan and in a factory somewhere in Ohio.

The modifications that Acura made to the front end for 2012 are much better although I'm already getting comments such as "Does it come with a supply of carrots?" and "Does it come with a dental plan that covers orthodontics?" LOL.

Ended up negotiating a lease at 2.15%, Freight and PDI cut in half, only $500 as deposit and a remaining $1800 due on pick up with monthly lease payments of $660 taxes in.   They wanted my existing 08 TL tech because it only has about 30 000 KM's on the odometer. :D

SO EXCITED!

....

SO EXCITED!

That's great Wetson...never had the disdain for the Acura snout that's shared by many.  Very sorry to hear about your GM experience...maybe they're too busy selling Camaros.   ;D   There's likely lots of hungry people in Acura stores these days!
If it flies, floats or f#%&s...rent it.

Great car that. I am sure you will love it.
Is it still available with the manual?

Awesome! I like the new (and old) TL despite some of it's looks. The revised version looks much better too! Pictures please!

Congrats on the new car.

...my existing 08 TL tech because it only has about 30 000 KM's on the odometer.

You don't drive very much do you.
A subwoofer should only be noticed once it has been turned off.

Congrats Wetson!!  The TL is an awesome car!!  You will have to tell the GM story, however.  Given GM's well known past history, it amazes me that they don't treat possible customers better.  I guess some things will never change.

I do but mostly short little trips here and there.  Plus we still have our 2003 Accord.  Still looks damn good to.

In the last couple of years I've gone to see about a CTS-V, a Camaro, a Mustang (at least thrice  ;D), a BMW M3, a Fiat 500, a Charger, and a Civic Si...the worst experiences by far were at Honda and Budds BMW...the other experiences were fine.

My WORST experience ever was at an Acura store a long, long time ago.

^  BlackS40, there was a thread a while back about best and worst experiences at a dealership, and it was all over the map.

Doesn't seem like there were any consistent trends, so I think it really depends on the individual dealership and not the brand.

Oh, I agree, Julie....but no GM dealership should be treating customers like crap.  From my personal experience (I did own a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am), it wasn't negative at all, but there was still some "old-school" tactics used.
