Ride for Your Life (1966)
« on: July 13, 2011, 10:18:28 pm »
Came across this 10 min film on the NFB site. It profiles Mike Duff who was a Canadian Grand Prix racer in the 60's. I remember first reading Duff's column in Cycle Canada magazine in the early 80s. I particularly remember one column where Duff derided the then-new "hang-off" style of riding. Apparently he thought it unnecessary and ridiculous looking. In the mid 80's Duff announced that he would live the rest of his life as a woman and changed his name to Michelle. Definitely an interesting character in Canadian sport.

So to sum up:  Leaning off the bike, penis and balls all deemed unnecessary?

Well it would be easier to ride without a set of balls in the way....
