Good Family vehicle
« on: July 05, 2011, 05:36:20 pm »
Hi

First time poster here.
Our family of 4 owns a '04 Lancer and the missus is now thinking of buying an additional car, something bigger she states. I was wondering if there are any suggestions out there for decent SUV's, vans or wagons. Here are the constrains:
1) Must fit 4 people, 1 dog (and camping gear for example)
2) Price to be hopefully under $10k (might inch out another couple of bucks if needed)
3) Reliable vehicle, with spar parts (IE the A/C knob for our 04 lancer is practically impossible to find) as I have some auto work experience.

any suggestions?

Mazda6 wagon

That is a good choice.

As is the Legacy Wagon or Outback.  Dodge Caravan's are cheap as well to buy.

Caravan would be a good choice as IIRC they depreciate like a stone. Plus Stow and Go is good I hear.

Parts should be both cheap and plentiful. I say you go that way.
