New Ride.....(finally)
« on: June 28, 2011, 11:47:13 am »
After new 5 months of humming and hawing I finally took the plunge

2011 Mercedes ML350 Bluetec in Palladium Silver metallic/black artico interior with Avant Garde package.
My first ever GM ownership experience  can best be described as   "Fool me once...."

Awesome vehicle! I do have to say that you do have a taste for vehicles with a less than exemplary reliability track record, to say the least... Then again, just about anything has to be more reliable than the SRX this replaces.  ;D

I did think long and hard about that but..........

1. The ML got a "recommended" from CR
2. I know people at the local dealership so the level of service will be decent.

Hopefully everything on the SRX was working ok when the dealer looked at it...

Congrats on the new vehicle! I'd never buy one myself even if I could afford it, but the ML is definitely a nicer looking box than most SUVs regardless of price, with the possible exception of some of the newer Kia offerings. I hope reliability and fuel mileage are up to par.

Lately I've been getting a funny feeling that I might be turning into a Kia troll, so be gentle with me, OK? I'm getting professional help. ::)

Congrats! It's a good looking vehicle, better than the upcoming model IMO.

Beautiful rig. Avantgarde package is sweet, although I'm fancy on the Grand Edition myself of which I've seen few. Any Benz will do!  ;D

Think you were talking Touareg V6 and didn't recall you mentioning TDI diesel... did you choose the BlueTEC because there's only a small premium for it over the 3.5L V6 relative to Touareg, or because you sampled the engine and liked it along with the fuel economy benefit?

Congrats again, know you've been thinking about this a looooooooooooong time!

I hadn't really been considering the diesel but when I drove one I was impressed. With the premium only being $1500 it seemed the way to go in terms of both better residual value and fuel economy. I drove the Grande edition but wasn't a fan of the contrasting stitching...to each his own I guess.
