I put some new tires on the TT today. After much deliberating, I decided to go to an Ultra Performance all-season tire, rather than a pure summer. I decided on the new-to-market General G-Max AS-03. I was hoping for a bit of sidewall deflection to maybe smooth the ride somewhat, as I think I did too good of a job in making the TT more sporty.

Not such luck though. The G-Max are as firm as any max performance summer tire I've used..which is impressive considering these are all season. It's been raining all day, so the wet weather traction is excellent. When it was dry, the car cornered very well. I'll have to let VMango chime in, as he's going to test the TT tomorrow.
The tires have some unique things about them....are they gimmicks though?? Maybe. Along the center rib, are the words "replacement tire monitor". When the tire wears sufficiently, it will read "replace tire". Also, on the shoulders is the "Visual Alignment Indicator". VAI consists of short sipes on both shoulders of the tire. When misalignment occurs, one of these sipes will wear off before the other alerting the driver to an alignment condition. Interesting...sort of.
Anyways, the tire is rated at 480AA-A, and the reviews so far have been very good, if not raving. It seems this tire will unseat the current all season ultra performance tire, the Continental DWS.
