Resetting Bluetooth in 2007 Acura RDX
« on: June 11, 2011, 02:17:52 pm »
Hi everyone,
I haven't posted in a very long time...but my parents (finally) bought a 2007 RDX (Yay!  We're at 3 Acuras now) and the silly bluetooth is locked.  The dealer can't reach the previous owner for the password and it's a pain to have it reset by the dealer with their scanner as they are an hour away.

The minute I press the "talk" button the voice says "the system is locked, what is the passcode?" and nothing I say seems to work  - I have tried saying HELP, SYSTEM, SET UP, CANCEL, DELETE and tried passwords like 0000, 1111, and 9999.

Does anyone know what my options are for resetting this on our own?

In case this helps, the car is fully loaded with Navi and everything - from what I understand the Bluetooth, Navi and Radio are connected.  Is that correct?

Thanks a bunch!

From the acura forum.    One person says 1234 for the passcode

another says:
"
Press and release the talk button and say System. The response should be "System options are setup and clear". Press and release the talk button and say "clear". The response should be "This process will clear all paired phones, clear all entries in the phonebook and clear the passcode. Is this what you would like to do?"

Press and release the talk button and say "yes". The response should be "Preparing to clear all paired phones, all phonebook entries, and the passcode. This may take up to 2 minutes to complete. Press and relase the Talk button. After the beep, say "OK" to proceed, or say "Go Back" or "Cancel". "

Press and release the talk button and say "OK". Eventually the response should be "System has been cleared. Returning to the main menu.".

I guess you have tried all those?

Thanks for the suggestions...unfortunately, we have tried 1234 - nothing.
And the minute I press the talk button it tells me the system is locked.  It doesn't react to anything I say; or at least nothing I say seems to override the lock.  I did lots of reading of the owner's manual and tried saying "system" several times and it does nothing  ???

I think you will need the master Nav code that came with the car. Usually is used to unlock the system after a long battery disconnection.

If you don't have it the only option is the dealer...
