I use Chevron 94 octane in my car and it has an noticeable effect on fuel consumption. On 91 octane with 5% ethanol my TL would get 11.5 L / 100 km. On 94 with no ethanol it gets 10.5 L / 100 km. The 94 is three cents a litre more expensive than the required 91 so it is definitely worth it. It also seems to be smoother and have more power, but this may be only psychological as the motor in my car is already pretty smooth and powerful.
Ran the last tank on V-Power. Got an average of 11.4L/100km. Last fillup - Ultramar 91 ($0.03 off on Thursdays) - average so far (after 300km) 9.9L/100km. What gives?
