Drivetrain & Transmission Question
« on: May 16, 2011, 06:08:04 pm »
Hi. I was wondering if the drivetrain and transmission are separate pieces. If so is it possible to: (example) put an AWD drivetrain into a corvette's T56 transmission?

or is it that transmission itself that determines the drivetrain?

Thanks.

Drivetrain= Engine,transmission,transfer case[if equipped], driveshafts and axle shafts. Transmission= well...transmission.

Sure you can.  You can make most any transmission work.  But you'll need custom made everything.  The only thing stopping you is the size of your bank account.

There's an XR4Ti that's been swapped over to AWD, plus a V8 running a T56.
