A very interesting concept, but weights will go up when you add in all the mandatory safety and comfort items.  This will increase the weight and decrease the range.

Kewl. Very convenient for tradesmen who use air tools  :P
It is an old idea and the main limiting factor is pressure the air tank can hold. With nanotech applied there's got to be some room for range improvement.
