Think the new S60 television commercial is very provocative. Every time I see it think 'gee, that might be the car I'd buy with a hard earned $50K'.

Weexy, still jealous and glad to hear you're happy with it.

So, how is life with the S60 after a few months? I'm asking cause I'm mighty tempted by the S60R. Will road test a T6 on Friday to see how much I like it but would like your toughts on your experience with yours.

Thanks,

I'm still very happy with it.  It will be a year old next month - has been flawless since day 1.
The T6 engine is fantastic - loads of power & decent fuel economy.  From what i've read, I don't think the R is worth the $4,600 cost - - marginally quicker to 60 & stiffer ride seems to be about it.  The regular S60 has more than enough juice & for me has a nice balance between good handing & comfortable ride.  It will carve through twisty roads surprisingly well, & you can cruise for hours on end comfortably.

PM sent with more details...

Thanks, I'll try road testing both. The R gives you the HID headlights, 18" wheels, lowered and stiffer suspension, trunk spoiler and a few other goodies. I like the R wheels too.

If the R ride is too stiff, then my choice would be a T6 with 18" wheels and HID.

Thanks,

I have the 17's, & if i could go back i might have gone with the 18's but I couldn't see much difference then.  HID's would be nice.

I did road test the T6 today. Very refined car. You barely hear the engine in the cabin. Tons of torque, great acceleration. Handling is very refined, better than my 08 TL and similar to a current TL i would say. We have one particular ramp that does a 270 degree on which I test all the cars I'm interested in and I found the S60 feeling lighter and nimbler on that curve than the TL SH-AWD.

I've started the negociation process and i'm already $3K off MSRP for the R. I need to find one to road test.....

Currently financing is available at .9% over 5 years, the warranty is extended to 5 years, 80K km, and that include all maintenance and wear parts except tires; even brakes and wiper blades!

I say red, my wife says white.

Red may attract unwanted attention... :cp2: :cp2:

Wow! 0.9% for the R.  That's pretty good considering it's a brand new model.  Also 3K off already.  Looks like you could easily get more off.  Wish it came in manual, that would be perfect!
