Vman was kind enough to lend me his car yesterday for a few shots, I like 'em!  Gotta love those rims too, they're perfect.

i always wondered how you did that kind of picture...do you photoshop the rig out of the picture on the images where you can see the hood?...or is the rig mounted somewhere it doesn't get seen in the field of vision?

Great shots.

How involved is photoshopping the rig out of the picture?

No John, I zipped up before I took the shots...  :rofl2:

dirtyjeffer, the rig is on the hood for the front shot, and the roof for the rear shot.

winklovic, yes it takes ages to 'shop out the rig, but it's worth it in the end.  Put it this way, the kids have watched a lot of TV today, daddy had work to do!  :rofl2:

Wicked shots Bob!!

As you said, the Prodrive rims really set off the WRX. Wish I was closer so I could avail of your services to shoot my car.

What's the point of the rig then exactly?  It's not like you can't get that same shot holding the camera....can't you?  And with no Photoshopping to do?

I still don't get what's so special about this rig.   ???

I only ask because I've seen stationary photos made to look like they were moving.  And they looked as good and I suspect took less Photoshopping, set-up and trial and error (as I'm sure you and Vmango can attest to).  I'm not crapping on your pics at all, as always remarkable work...I seriously want to know why this boom method is preferred to the style of photo I described above, since it seems like much, much more work.

I can't comment RR, as I've never seen that process done particularly well.

Seriously good shots, Bob!

Have you tried CS5 and content-aware fill? Just wondering if it would make the PP easier...
