^ When you move your finger nail across it do you feel a deep ridge?  If you do, it's down past the clear coat and pigmented paint and can't be polished out.

Yep.  I figured I knew the answer, but thought maybe some magic could be done...

Canuck - your thoughts on if you could fix something like this:

Yes, it's the S60.  After I had it for about two weeks I got this large door ding courtesy of some jackA$$.
On passenger side rear door, couldn't get a great picture of it, but it is dented and can't tell if it's down to metal or if it was a white car that was the dinger.  Someone gave it a solid whack.

Is that something a good detailer could fix or am I talking to a body shop?

I have almost the exact same mark on th LR door of my Forester.  Some people really can be inconsiderate a$$holes!!!

 :iagree:

That happened to me many moons ago, when three inconsiderates got out of their two door vehicle (the driver and the two rear seat passangers), all banged the door against my two week old purchase. What was worse, I was sitting in my vehicle at the time. I confronted them about the damage, and well lets say they replied with thier fingers, and not in a way that would indicate they were to blame.

Outside the gym the other day this guy with a Z8 BMW parked about 6" from my driver's door.  No way I'm going to crawl in from the passenger side.  Z8's have no door edge guards.  His car has a couple pretty bad scars.  Moron.
No place I'd rather be...
