Well Costco didn't have my battery, they had a 51R fitment but not 51, too bad it was only $70 there.  Then CTC only had Motormaster in my figment, it is kindof an oddball figment apparently.   Ah well, bought the motor master, I only start the car like 10 times a month, should be good ;)

Different connectors?

No...difference between a 51R and a 51 is if the terminals face the firewall on a 51, they would face the front of the car on a 51R.

I can get an A/C Delco for $106   Are they good?

The actual GM  AC/Delco died during the bankruptcy.

If your buying one of their premium batteries it's from Johnson Controls.  If it's one of their lower tier batteries it's a no name from China.

Do they sell them under the AC  Delco name?

Yes, AC Delco still a big brand "name"

Yes, you could.  But often if the are wires up against the firewall, the wires won't reach once the battery is front facing.  Not enough slack.

The CTEK 3300 has a battery desulphation feature, compact and water resistant.

Dave

Don't bet on the "desulphation" feature on any charger, especially on the ones we can afford.

Once a battery is sulphated, depending on the degree of sulphation, its pretty well done. The trick is to keep it fully charged and it won't sulphate. That means a good battery maintainer matched to the battery type in the off season and a good charging system on the vehicle.

We tested a $1500 fancy smancy charger that is claimed to desulphate batteries...yeah, right. Its a good paper weight.
What you won't find in my car is a coffee, cigarette and a cell phone. What you will find is a driver; imagine that, a driver in a vehicle. What an effing concept!

A car has to do more than just perform; it has to stir your soul!

A true driver's car does not have cup holders.
