Gas Pumps that Keep Stopping
« on: April 15, 2011, 06:54:23 pm »
I don't think this happens often enough that its my car. I'm assuming the problem is the pump. Today I was only able to pump $13 of gas because the pump would not stay running.  What does everyone else do in this situation?  After about 5 times I just gave up and left.  Does getting them to reset the pump help at all?

I had this happen to me once. Really weird. Ended up just driving to another station.

I'd ease up on the trigger and pump a little slower.  If that doesn't work, then use another pump or station.

That also happens depending on how the nozzle is inserted. If inserted all the way, due to the curvature of the nozzle, the end is no longer pointing straight down the filler tube and a bit of back flow causes the sensor to stop the pump.
What you won't find in my car is a coffee, cigarette and a cell phone. What you will find is a driver; imagine that, a driver in a vehicle. What an effing concept!

A car has to do more than just perform; it has to stir your soul!

A true driver's car does not have cup holders.

Will give that try next time. Pulling it up about an inch maybe and easing the trigger on

Try turning the whole gas nozzle upside-down.   Works best in my 911 like this.
