Is there a good place in Montreal to get mag repaired
« on: April 15, 2011, 02:15:20 pm »
I have a 17 original mag off a Mazda 3 sport I would want to get repaired. It has a small dent on edge from hitting a piece of steel on highway (my tire is toast). It also has a bit of curb rash I would like cleaned up.

Never had this type of work before and I do not know where to go.

A place on West Island would be preferable but willing to go further if required.

Thanks

I've had my wheels repaired through the Mazda dealership here in Ottawa.  They send them to a Montreal area shop and they do an absolutely GREAT job.  I don't know the name of the shop in Montreal, but why don't you give the parts department at Performance Mazda in Ottawa a call?  Phone  1 (888) 499 - 3597

You can get rims repaired?!  Maybe I can take my Mazda 5's 17" rim in to get it adjusted back to round (it's barely out, but enough to cause a vibration that balancing can't quite fix)  :(

Anyone had any luck getting rims repaired?  I mean, does it really work or do you pay through the nose when you should have just purchased a new rim in the first place?

I know on a scrap yard a rim would cost around a 100, depending on the car and the condition. Good scraps even have picture databases and more than one location, so you have higher chance to find what you need. Just google "scrap yard + [your city]" and you should be all set.
If it were some exotic than its a different story.
