As the weather set in before I could get anything done, am I better off using a Zaino product than the AutoGlym? Based on what Bob said, I did some research, and apparently the AutoGlym High Definition Wax is a pain in the butt to do by hand.

Thanks in advance!
Erik

We bench-tested a decent amount of the products offered by AutoGlym in our shop and none of them were any good. Actually, the right word to use is 'junk.' You're better off using something that is tried, true, and of high quality like Meguiars. In our opinion here at my store, the AutoGlym is quite over-priced for what it is and it delivers less than stellar results.

In terms of clay bars, we have started using 3M mild and aggressive clay bars over the past year and have found that they perform well and hold up with repeated use.

Wow. Only negative review I have ever heard of Autoglym. Not like it is a new product, and it is certainly of the tried and true variety in England. I first saw it at Aston Martin back in the Newport Pagnell days.

Yeah - we were thinking of picking up the entire line of AutoGlym products to offer our customers for retail sale, but with our rather negative experience during the product testing stages I told them no thank you. We ended up just pitching the remainder of the products into the trash - they were useless. I know it may sound harsh, but in a production environment you need products which work well and fast (which is why we have stuck with Meguiar's, 3M, and Bocar) and produce the same high-quality results everytime.

They can't be that bad if they make a multi-million dollar business out of it. I detect some bias.

So do I. Is it because AutoGlym is carried by CT and this drives the price down...?

Think what you want - I didn't just wander into this business yesterday folks - I've been in this business for years and have tried many different products. We stick with which ones perform to our standards and those that do not we simply do not use or recommend to clients. Others may have had positive experiences with AutoGlym, but in the opinion of my staff and I (and quite a few clients who I have given sampler packages of AutoGlym to..)- you are better off looking at other products. There is a company called E-shine which carries a lot of the enthusiast type products which deliver very nice results and the customer service at E-shine is top-notch to say the least.

There's nothing to protect anymore because Meguiar's dropped a lot of the smaller retailers/distributors (us included) when 3M bought them out. So our product recommendations come from actual day-to-day use of various products and how well they perform.
