Just a thought - being a mule some of those interior trim bits could just be parts bin fill-ins and not the 100% final product.

The last Malibu, when it came out, had the best interior GM had ever done (as many of the reviews had said). I would expect them to continue that trend.....but this is GM and logic isn't always the basis of decision making.

It's already been reported that the new Malibu is supposed to be a big step up over the old one in interior quality.

Here's hoping.  But I kinda doubt the instrument cluster is a parts bin fill-in.

I'll echo Vman's comments that the last one was pretty good.  Square-ish tail lamps look pretty good on this thing!

If it flies, floats or f#%&s...rent it.

There's also a teaser video with the designer...

From the rendering that they have floating around there it's looking pretty good. The reveal should be interesting.

Like Ford, who better get the new Escape right, so must Chevy with this new Malibu.

Chevy needs to get their trucks right.  If the Malibu is done "right", then they stand to make big gains as opposed to not lose ground.  Many perceive those two things to be very different.

Photo Leaked yesterday.  BTW - Chevy says the 3.6L is still most likely an option

I'd like to see a few more shots from different angles, but based on this one..... um.... it's a really nice colour. It does have a massive blocky Taurus look to it, and hey, some people dig that.  Not me, but some people.

On the interior shot above - gotta hand it to the photographer who clearly knows how to make his subject look good.  Notice the afwul gauge cluster / surround is blurred into oblivion while the attractive center stack almost pops out of the picture in comparative sharpness?  :)

Somewhat blandly competent looking. Looks kinda like a big Cruze. Not a bad thing, I guess. Not a style leader, but likely not what they were planning either. Chevy seems to be shooting straight for the middle.

In larger resolution. I think it's a great looking sedan at least from this angle, somewhat reminiscent of latest Buicks.

Mike: "BTW - Chevy says the 3.6L is still most likely an option"

That would be a smart move, placing the car more up market and giving it best in class HP.

Yes, it is quite reminiscent of the later Buicks and Taurus - very clean athletic looking lines that allow some of the nice detailing around the bottom of the front valence and rear "haunches" to stand out without having the overstlying that is common place.

Looks like a winner to me. Well styled, not too overdone... fits the brand styling elements without loosing it's own identity. So far I'm impressed again... GM has turned at least it's styling divisions around quite nicely.

Hmmm...I was expecting more based on that teaser shot showing the rear end with the Camaro-esque taillights.  Sad to say the Camaro tails might be the most interesting part of the car...

^^^ Ugh.  That last pic really shows off the overly bulky and bulbous front end.  In the rearviuew mirror, it's going to look like someone is driving a brick wall.

Looks like a bloated Angry Cruze.

Yep.
