In reading car forums for a few years now I've heard of this thing happening a few times. Normally its when the car is moving... a couple of guys figured it was either some sort of weird resonance caused at highway speeds and on certain roads or a buildup of pressure in the cabin and the sunroof was the weak point that popped. Don't think anyone ever quite figured it out.

So,what was the final outcome here? Did GM offer any help? (or even an explaination?) Did you manage to get anything through insurance or did you end up writing the cheque?
My first ever GM ownership experience  can best be described as   "Fool me once...."

Holy $3!7!  :o

Glad you're okay, and glad it happened local, and not on a desolate stretch of 401.  At 2:00 am. In the middle of February.  In a blizzard.

GM just shruggred their shoulders. Same response as when I demonstated the cold engine piston slap. Insurance said they would not cover. I paid out of pocket about $500. The upside was that I found a really good glass shop.
