So this monster is coming to Canada. Question is, do we need another Big SUV....Really reminds me of Outlander from the front...

No I guess not. But with gas prices increasing it might not even make it here.

I dunno, lots of Suburbans were sold through all the gas crisis. Perhaps a nice small displacement diesel?

I like the look, but I don't get it, unless this is a Suburban replacement.  If it replaces the Suburban, is the Tahoe gone also?

Edit:  Okay, I don't get it after looking at the link.  They compare it to a Sante Fe.  Where does this fit in?  Between Equinox and Traverse?  Seems silly.

You sure that's coming here? Chevrolet is all Daewoo outside of North America and I thought that this was just an update of their lineup.

The old Daewoo/Chevrolet Captiva in Vietnam last winter, it didn't seem all that big:

Agreed.  I really like the look of it as well, however I am just not sure where this is supposed to fit in nor do I understand why they need to add another SUV to their lineup when they already have the Equinox, Tahoe, Traverse, and Suburban.  Maybe I am missing something, but I just don't get the need for it.   ???

Am I missing something? Where does it say it's coming to Canada? The link in the original post is to a British website that reviewed the vehicle.

Ya, I don't see it coming to Canada, which is probably a good thing.

I read a few reviews and appear to be conflicting. So I can't say for certain. I read also that will be a the Detroit auto show. At this point I'm confused....

The Detroit auto show has already happened. You mean the New York auto show?

Perhaps this is to replace something that currently exists in the lineup? The new Jeep and Dodge entrants in this category are apparently excellent as is the new Explorer. Chevy's answer?

EDIT: This appears to be much smaller than those. More in line with a mid-size SUV here of which the Equinox does a very good job. It's a seven seater in Europe which is not usually the same here.

They obviously feel adding another similar model beside the Equinox will confuse the customer, hence the fleet only sales. I guess GM wish they hadn't killed Pontiac now. FWIW I find the Captiva's looks rather attractive, especially when compared to the aging Fe. It maybe on a conservative side but that;s what some folks and many small businesses are looking for.

P.S. IMO they need to replace that fugly Terrain with this.
