Much as this is a nice design, if Audi spent a little less time making it light up like a traveller's christmas tree and a little more time on wondering why their bulbs blow all the time, it might actually be a decently reliable car.  Are they releasing the Quattro at all?

Why do you think they went LED + Xenons?  :rofl2:

LEDs are much more durable.   they also use very little energy comparable to other light sources.  with respect to it's release date?  i am a little mystified as to why they would be showing the design so early if it isn't coming to our shores until 2013 as some web sites have suggested.  i would have thought the car was intended to be released for this fall in europe and possibly mid winter for NA.  as a side, i just read that audi won't be bringing a diesel in the a4 until 2014/15.   it will be the last model to get the diesel in NA.   WTF?

LOVE the exterior design - a stunner for sure.  Not feelin' that funky dash, though.

"but it's a few cylinders and several percentage points of commitment short of bearing comparison with an M3 or C63."

I suspect that the price of the RS3 will be quite a bit higher than the C63.  I am fortunate to have driven the C63, and for $60K (my friend paid $60K flat without much haggling) I can hardly think of more "German luxury performance" for your money.  Jeez, that thing hauls.
No place I'd rather be...

I'm diggin' your latest posts Bob that have a "who cares what the watch says" bend to them.

The S5 is just gorgeous...it sure does LOOK like the business.

I think the last involving Audi with a personality (R8 not included) was the V8 RS4.
How fast is my Supra?  I sh*t on Cessnas from a roll....

This is a FWD biased car after all. Comparing it to the M3 and C63 seems rather absurd, regardless of what the marketing department says that is the job of the RS5.

Can't say it doesn't have character. That turbo inline 5 sounds like nothing else.

Well here's the 3 door hatch but where's the sedan??

"The 2014 Audi A3 appears to be a cool and classy-looking luxury ride. But if you’re hankering for a hatchback, you’d better not wait for the new model. The next A3 is coming to the U.S. only in sedan format, whereas the 5-door hatchback continues to be offered in Europe. Rubbing some salt in the wound is the fact that the A3 sedan is arriving only after the hatchback goes on sale in other markets."

Nothing to report since the A3 sedan concept at Geneva last year.

Looks nice. They always clinch it in the styling department.
