Looks like I'll be in the shop some more next month.  ::)

At least I'll have lots of company with all those Acadia,Traverse,Enclave,Outlook and CTS owners  ;D
My first ever GM ownership experience  can best be described as   "Fool me once...."

Been talk about timing chains on those for ages. About time they did something about it.

All they are doing is cutting down the oil change interval and hoping that will fix it. It's the cheapest thing to try, and if it doesn't work, it may at least extend the life until they are out of warranty.  :)

May want to budget for timing chain replacement, it looks like an expensive :censor: of a job:

The oil contamination of the intake manifold and the internal coolant seepage doesn't look good either. The broken rad clamps could have melted that engine down at any moment, might be something to double check on yours.

May want to get that Grand Cherokee sooner than later.

'When timing chains are good they are very, very good, but when they are bad....'

Apparently even relatively simple engines like the VW 2.5 L can have timing chain problems, here the shop found it cheaper to swap the whole engine than to repair the chain!

The cynical part of me thinks that this is more an attempt on GM's part to nurse things along until the warranties expire and this becomes a customer's problem.  ::)
