Oooooo....nice find RR.

Firstly, referencing another thread - Bob...you can't love Ferraris or defend them unless you buy one.

I wholeheartedly agree.  A 308/328 will either be my next car purchase, or after the Mustang that may follow the GC.  It won't be soon but it is most definitely planned.

Best have a hefty bank account set-up for maintenance!!  Start saving now!

Bob..of interest to you, they had a long-term test of a 308 at Inside Line.  Kept it for a year.  Might be worth reading for you.

Interesting.  They paid $28,000 spent $5,000 on it...and sold it for $30,000.  Sounds like a hell of a lot of fun for $3,000!
If it flies, floats or f#%&s...rent it.

The key to those cars is finding a competent mechanic who has knowledge of the cars.  This can be VERY difficult.  I spoke to the owner of a 308 and that was his big gripe.

Though...that's the gripe for many who own a specialty car.

We've been down this road before on this forum.  I don't consider $2K-$3K a year much for maintaining a car like this, and maybe $5K in a pot for larger items.  I would have been in exactly the same situation if I had bought a TVR in the UK, so a Ferrari is no different.  I just see it as a cost of ownership, same as premium fuel.  I'll get one when I have the spare cash, I'm not going to go hungry just to own a Ferrari.

Are the kids too young to get a job to help the old man out and contribute to his Ferrari fund?   :rofl2:

LOL, they will!

Actually I think a 348 would probably be best.

348 is horribly unreliable compared to a 308/328 from what I read.

Could you squeeze to a 456GT so you could bring the kids??   ;D

Chris Harris addressing the Ferrari mechanic calmly...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hxqR5NPhtLI

 :rofl2:

I do wonder what the fallout will be from this though.  Chris Harris is a very well respected journo, I really like his writing. Ferrari have definitely shot themselves in the foot with the way they deal with press cars, everyone knows that everyone tunes them, BMW, Nissan too.  But Ferrari have gone way past that, and they will only damage their own reputation because of it.

I wonder if they will refuse to supply cars to publications that use Chris...?

I would guess they might.  He seems to think that he will be "black listed" by Ferrari.  I've read in some magazines or online blogs that they've been denied press cars after saying unkind things about certain car models.

Wonder if Wing has ever not got a press car after a critical review???

I remember reading in Car and Driver Mercedes black listed them for awhile.  I can't remember the context but I think C&D crashed a test car.
