Switching sales reps/same dealer
« on: February 13, 2011, 05:55:50 pm »
As you would know from my posts this past month, I am actively shopping to lease a new vehicle.  I've narrowed the field down to 3/4 potentials (I'd be happy with any of them, but the deal has to be right) but at one dealer a couple of weeks ago, I was picked up by a new sales rep, not young...but new, who didn't know the product that well, and didn't seem to appreciate the factor residual plays in leasing, but did spend some time with me on my only visit.  I want to go back to have another look and test drive agan, but frankly wish to deal with another rep.  I'm north of TO and there is only one dealer of that car maker in town and I would wish to deal there.  Any suggestions how I might hook up with a hopefully more knowledgeable rep at the same dealer.  Thought of phoning the sales manager to ask for someone else, but it's not a big dealership and I don't want it to get awkward.

Nothing to worry about. I had situations when I'd leave one salesperson, walk back to the receptionist and politely ask for another guy. Customer is the boss as long as you are considering a possibility to purchase from them. If they are service oriented ppl they would be glad to play by your rules.
I'd find a sales person I'd like to deal with through their website and schedule a meeting with them, or if you don't want any awkwardness talk to the manager first and I'm sure he/she will this time give you the best person they have.
You don\'t find Chuck Norris, he finds you.

I "always" deal with the "dealer principle" as I refuse to play the sales manager/sales person back and forth b/s. I have thoroughly researched the vehicle I want, I know the price I am willing to pay and quite frankly, I know more about the product when I walk in there then "most" of the staff working at the dealership.  I  live in Northern Ontario in a small community and we have 5-car dealers locally, Ford, GM, Chrysler/Jeep, Subaru/Suzuki, Toyota.  IMO, deal with someone you feel comfortable after all it is your money!
