I wouldn't be so sure about being quicker, since for example Sonata Turbo is quicker on paper than Camry V6, but not in real life. It needs to drop all those bells and whistles to be the fastest on the block.
Pretty much every mainstream midsize sedan is slower than a V6 Camry in a straight sprint - including the lighter and more powerful Altima. I have long maintained that Toyota is flat out lying about the output of their 3.5l V6 - because every vehicle they put it in is quicker than it has any right to be, including the Rav 4. Of course, this type of automotive fibbing I can definitley live with.

But to your main point - yes, what quicker on paper and what's quicker on the road aren't always the same.
