How to you get around Rock Auto's crazy shipping prices? I am looking for direct fit catalytic converter/pipe assemblies for my Vibe:

Rock Auto's cheapest is 290.00 plus 87.00 shipping (Via UPS standard, so might as well add another 50 bucks for brokerage), total 427.00

Ebay 249.00 plus 35.00 shipping, Canadian seller so no extra duty. Total 284.00

Autopartsway BTW is 663.00 with free shipping (Yay).

I get them shipped to the Montana border. Pay the package service $1 per package to hold. Package a few things together and go retrieve them all at once. Works because Lethbridge is only one hour away.

Rock Auto.

Roughly the same pricing as Pelican Parts or Autohaus AZ.

They're in the US, so they know something about being competitive.

I bought a new set of KYB struts/shocks from JustSuspension.com. It came out to $315 delivered to my door.

Well they're not even as cheap as OEM Honda...

2 OEM parts purchased (all in CDN dollars)

Honda Canada: $255.58
Autopartsway: $176.56 (aftermarket parts)
Honda USA: $133.42

Is that pricing for the same plugs though?

Well there can be quite a difference between brand pricing; sometimes none and sometimes a lot.

To be fair, I always post apples to apples comparisons. In my case above, you'd expect OEM Honda to cost far more than aftermarket, yet that wasn't the case.

IMO it is even worse that they don't even offer NGK's. How can that be?

What do you guys think of the Autopartsway.ca new website design?

I really couldn't give a flying eff what their web site looks like.

Having read enough posts relating how incompetent they are, my friend who just ordered from them experienced that first hand.

So he orders a down pipe for his car. It arrives and its the wrong part.

OK now, they stock/send the wrong part and he has to pay return shipping.  ???

They charge a 20% restocking charge. Maybe they're not in the business of auto parts, but in making their money with restocking charges.  ???

They won't issue a refund, only a credit.  ???

Auto Parts Way are clowns big time. I knew there is a reason I deal south of the border.

Follow up to the above post...

It cost him $50 to send the incorrect part (downpipe between manifold and catalytic converter) back by UPS.

The part that was ordered no longer shows up on the AutoPartsWay site. Hmmmmm...I wonder why.

Although he has dealt with them once before, he won't be dealing with Canadian on-line auto parts supplies in the future.
