Just checked out the link - nice looking little car, nicer than the Fiesta I think. I would not buy it if it is only available in a 2 door model. Perhaps there is a 4-door sedan?

"As the successor to the egregiously disappointing Aveo" - this is offensive to me and other drivers who chose that vehicle. The Aveo/Wave hatch is certainly no VW, but meets my needs. The rear seat comfortably seats 3.

I guess there designed worked (given the illusion its a two door vehicle), it is only available in a four-door - check the side view at the back window, that's where the door handle is located.  There will be a four door sedan too.

Holy smoke!!.......Brilliant.......I remember looking at a handle on the other link and wondered why it was there. No fuss or explanation that I understood anyway. Ha ;D Will go and have another look now.

Love that! New & different. I would guess it will be *much more* to buy than my Wave.

"Even the first coat of rust-proofing has been reformulated so that it is one-hundredth as thick as — and thereby cheaper than — the coating on other cars." - NY Times, 7-12-2011

Doesn't sound like a good car to buy if you live in the salt belt.

Wonder what else GM is chiseling on.

The headlights still look out of place... maybe it'll look better in person. The car looks decent otherwise inside and out.

Now you know what us Mopar owners have to put up with. As long as it meets your needs, ignore what others say. I have with Mopar haters.

Two of my sons friends have Aveos, and they love em.

About 500 lbs lighter than the Cruze but with the same engines

quote
Running through a set of backroads, we were continually amazed at the precision of the steering, along with the surprising lack of body roll.
it's more than up to the task of handling a set of switchbacks and hunkering down into a corner.
with commendable driving dynamics

another fun small car added to the list

« Reply #52 on: December 30, 2011, 06:25:45 pm »
Whoops!

http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/2011/12/gm-wont-give-the-sonic-a-complete-set-of-brake-pads/

"General Motors Co. is recalling 4,873 of its current year Chevrolet Sonic subcompact cars in the United States and Canada for possible missing front brake pads, the company and federal safety regulators said on Friday…

GM said that its research shows that 20 to 30 of the recalled cars were sold without one of its brake pads. Of the total recalled, 4,296 were sold to U.S. customers and 577 to Canadian customers, GM said."

doesn't sound those dealers did a very good PDI.  If you did it properly you would spot this major error!
