I had a close friend who worked in the dyno room at Ford's Essex engine plant.  And he told me a bunch of the crazy tests they used to do.  They would bring in a frozen engine block and start it up at WFO and let it run while introducing boiling hot coolant into the jackets.  They would also do the inverse.  Boiling hot engine, then pipe in ice cold coolant.  All the time at WFO.  They'd also run boosted engines at elevated boost to see how many PSI it would take to destroy the engine. Fun times!!
How fast is my Supra?  I sh*t on Cessnas from a roll....
