SAAB is now back in Canada
« on: December 04, 2010, 04:12:39 pm »
Saab isn't getting much press but they're back from the brink of death, just thought I'd post this as an FYI. The precious few Saab dealers across the country have been receiving their first cars since Saab was bought by Spyker last February, my dealer in Laval QC has told me the new cars are currently available for test drives.

The current lineup is 9-3 sedan, wagon, convertible and Outback-style 9-3X, the new 9-5 sedan (wagon upcoming MY2012) and crossover 9-4X coming next summer.  Somehow Saab Cars North America (importer for both US and Canada) have managed NOT to update their "website", for info you have to go to the international site at saab.com.

Great news! Nice to have some more interesting cars on the road.

Can't wait to see the 9-1 or 9-2 or whatever it's called that's in the pipeline.

That 9-4 looks quite nice! Glad to see them back!

I've always had a soft spot for Saabs, I am not sure why.  The new 9-5 with the turbo V6 and AWD seems interesting.

I am not too crazy about the 9-4x.  The new SRX is dissappointing (I loved the original!) and this truck being realted to it doesn't help it much

I like the Saabs as well but not at the prices they charged for their product.
Doesn't matter who owns them, if their prices are not in-line with the others they compete with don't expect them to see any differently.

Still waiting for return of the hatchbacks and non-use of GM components before I venture into a Saab showroom.

The local Saab dealer down here has a 9-3X a 9-3 XWD Turbo and a 9-5. I went in to check them out but the salesmen had no idea about anything. They didn't even have brochures for them yet! I'll probably go back once they get their ducks in a row.
