Congrats on the purchase!  I really dig the side profile and rear 3/4 view.

To be fair....most people have no clue that this engine is one of the most advanced engines on the market.  Period.

    * 1.6L direct injection turbocharged in-line 4
    * Sodium filled exhaust valves
    * Beehive valve springs
    * Twin variable camshafts
    * Nano finished camshafts
    * Hydrogen free DLC coated lifter buckets
    * Four counterweight crankshaft
    * Primary and Secondary injection events
    * Stratified combustion
    * Electronic engine mount

If anyone wants to know how any of the above work or why it's cool...ask away.  This engine would be a potent race engine when put in the right tuner's hands. And I'm rather certain I could extract 250HP easily...

OK, rr - since you threw the offer out, whats the deal with the Electronic Engine mount?  Never heard of such an animal.

250HP!!!.....I knew I read your mind.

I have this feeling that this is the new Nissan way of powering their future cars, smaller displacement and turbocharged.  New Altima and Sentra in the making, I'm intrigued.

A global sedan in the making, see sketch http://www.nissan-global.com/EN/NEWS/2010/_STORY/101012-02-e.html

Porsche uses them also.  Anyways...it allows variable stiffness in the engine mounts.  Usually what happens in corners, the front wheels drive around the corner and the mass of the engine has to "catch up".  In a traditional car, that mass catches up by compressing the motor mounts.  That can alter the cG and can cause push in the corners.

The electronic engine mounts can anticipate this.  They takes reading based on speed, steering wheel input and even shock compression.

When no diving into corners, it allows for soft engine mount for a smoother ride.

I agree...this could be an absolutely tremendous engine in various states of tune.  I always wished that we could get an SR20DETT...but this engine would do nicely.

Yea...250HP for this engine is pretty conservative IMO.  Heck...and intake and exhaust/downpipe alone would yield around 25-35HP easily.  Then turn up the boost!!

I tell ya..in all honesty....if I could get the AWD with a stick, I'd likely have one....

Very slick - would expect something like that in a Porsche, not in a relatively inexpensive CUV/SUV whatever category this thing falls in.
I think I need to take one for a drive...

A new Altima with a revised/modernized SR20DETT and turbocharged.....mmmmmmmmmmmmm

Maybe if enough people bug Nissan for a 6spd manual they will consider it

Congratulations on the new wheels! It certainly can't be accused of me-too styling! :cheers: :thumbup:

I'm starting to come 'round to it. ;D
