Toyota Prius MPV - Prius V

It seems if Mazda doesn't bring their sky-high power trains soon their 5 will face a serious competitor. On the other hand larger vehicle may allow Toyota to use a bigger than 13 mile battery thus keeping the company on the edge of electric evolution.

That's a practical vehicle, if a little boring.

I had a 93 APV for work, and it was a great wagon
Wish I did not traded it on a Venture
It had good mileage a lot of room

What about the second picture?

No Antenna, rear side windo is wrong shape, I believe
The picture I post was from a party Toyota had on CA. for the Prius 10 th anniversary , that Toyota put up.
You can see the blue car is larger and you see part of the rear side window

I personally think a Hybrid minivan will sell like crazy in Canada.  As long as it is priced alright.  Minivan drivers priorities are usually utility, ease of drive, practicality and efficiency.  It just makes sense.  I wonder if this spawn another new niche

This could work like a small service car, you can put a 6 ft ladder inside and still carry a bunch over other stff
yesterday I had go to Marmora to Peterborough and back to Cobourg
200 km trip and avg 4.4 l/100km in the Prius

The "microvan" "mini-minivan" (since the current minivans are extended family hauling behemoths now) I think will be a new niche or maybe even a spillover into the mainstream in the next few years. The Mazda5 and Rondo have been alright but with a Ford and probably a Chevy competitor (I hear Canada will still get the Orlando) plus a Prius based competitor... Things might get very interesting!

One minor thing for me, the fog lights seem an afterthought.
Otherwise it's like they got Canucks to vote on what we want in our next car and put together the top 5 answers - hatch, room for sticks and skis, reliable, fuel efficient, green with no minivan doors, so even if it is really a minivan it is an urban ute. If priced right it will be an instant success for Toyota.

It's not bad looking on the exterior. The interior I'm a little less convinced... but I think it will well and probably fairly well too. I love how the MPV market has exploded all of the sudden. We went from none to Mazda5/Rondo to those two plus the Prius V, C-Max (regular, hybrid, plugin hybrid) and Orlando.

There's no indication of a third row, no seatbelt, no split in the floor, no anything, how can this be an MPV?
