Winter Tire Install - When?

Searched for clear instruction/consensus and couldn't find, so I thought I'd post an easy poll.

Need to prepare to shoe the WRX for winter!!

doing mine tomorrow I think.  Since I do it myself I like to do it before my hands will freeze touching the tools.  This year I'm a little late because my truck is being driven more than previous years and didn't want to wear down the tires.

Probably do the missus' Corolla this weekend, as she has a commute.  I don't drive to work, so if I wake up and there's snow, no biggie.  I'm heading out to the mountains on the weekend of Nov 6/7, and I'll probably shoe the Subaru with snows for that trip, unless snow comes hard to the city before then.
No place I'd rather be...

Took a nail in the summer set so the winters are on now.

Mid November. I hate the soft feeling of the winters.  :-X

The Toyo Versado LX tires on the TSX are garbage in rain...however, they have shown little wear in the past year.

I voted for the first week of November but since we don't drive to work, have 3 grocery stores within a 15 minute walk....I never worry and can change them any night needed.

Now if we are heading north (or anywhere they weather will be crap) I would switch them early just to be safe.

BTW, Just north of Barrie got 10CM last night.

Doing mine on the 12th.  Late enough for the colder temperatures but still well before the provincial deadline of December 15th.

Both cars booked in for Monday AM.   Ahead of the rush.

All weathers are on all the time on the Vibe, just like winters were always on the Mazda. Hit snow already in May and September.

What do they say, 9 months of winter followed by 3 months of very poor sledding.

Once the average daytime high drops below 7C, that's when I change to the winter tires.  That's during the last week of October here in Winnipeg.

My winters are still installed.  I didn't take them off this summer.   I didn't encounter any problems during the summer with old squishy winters other than they didn't inspire confidence when hitting the curves hard during the CTC GT.    I have to get some new ones before the snow fall.

Usually end of October, but I keep an eye on the forecast and put it off as long as I can.

So far it looks like I've got at least another week of enjoying the summer rubber.

I'll do the Mini once it gets consistantly cold enough and that's usually mid/late Nov. With the SRX I often wait until we get a forecast for "plowable" snow.

Has there even been a major dump in the GTA before Nov 15?

That's when some bylaws in the GTA say you can't park overnight on the streets from Nov 15 to Apr 15 for snow plowing.

Our anniversary in Nov 17, and in since '78 I have never seen more then a couple of cm at time
But people in |GTA may think a cm is a major snow dump
Maybe they get cm and mm mixed up

It's been pretty warm, so I think I'll wait for a while yet. The winters are on black steelies down in the basement so I'll probably bring them up around the first week of November. It takes me about an hour to put them on in the driveway, no big deal even if it's a bit cold outside.
